Frequent Questions & Answers for Oculus Link Cable
2020-09-01

Q1:
Oculus software recognizes as USB 2.0 although I have an USB 3.0 cable. How do I resolve this issue?
A1:

1. Check whether driver is updated to the latest version. The common reason for this problem is that the chipset driver is not installed or not installed properly. Find the motherboard manufacturer’s official website to download the driver or search your notebook brand’s official website to get this update.

2. Reinstall the Oculus system.

3. Restart the computer and the device. Meanwhile, you can try another USB port to get a stable connection.

After you try these three steps but fail, please connect us to get more help.

Q2:
Didn’t work and didn’t even recognize the cable when it was connected to pc.
A2:
Please check if the graphics card or GPU is on the compatible list. If your computer is compatible for Oculus, please connect our cable with Type-C mobile phone to see whether it can transfer data or charge. If our cable doesn't work well, please connect us to get more help.

Q3:
Steam VR cannot recognize the Oculus Quest. What should I do?
A3:
Please install Oculus home software to solve this issue.

Q4:
The AMD graphics card cannot connect or cannot work properly. How do I resolve this issue?
A4:
Please downgrade the driver to version 20.11.1.

Q5:
This type C port is too tight. Does this cable will damage my devices?
A5:
Due to the reason that cable may be dragged or pulled when players play VR games, the Type-C port might be tight in a certain direction, but it does not affect normal usage. Meanwhile, please install type c port properly to get a steady connection.
